May 2014 - PDQ Exumas Expedition - Page 5
Sunset from the dock at Staniel Cay Yacht Club.
May 13 - Stayed at Staniel Cay. The winds have
been blowing quite steadily out of the east at 15-20
knots for the past 10 days. Fortunately, we've been
able to take the protected "inside", sometimes
shallow, routes along the lee side of the islands, so
it's not been bad cruising.
Bird's eye view of Staniel Cay YC on Tuesday PM - 12 PDQ's visible. At Monday's peak, there were actually 16 of us here!
Six PDQ's waiting off Staniel Cay for dock space. On Monday night we pretty much filled up the place!

We took advantage of the FREE washing machines at
Cave Cay to do all our laundry. There were, however,
no dryers, so we hung it all out on Sno' Dog!
This is a map of the Exuma Cays that I photographed on a sign
in Black Point Settlement. I underlined in red the places visited
by Sno' Dog. Click on the map to see a larger image.
Beth Simkins of Rhumb Line Yacht Sales printed
these pretty name tags for every participant in the
Expedition. She also made up some gorgeous green
T-shirts with each boat name. If we'd known how
pretty they'd be, we would have ordered some for
Nancy & me, but sadly we were too cheap!
