October 2010 - Page 2
This has been our "point of view" for the past week. Sure is nice to be warm and dry in here when it's cold, windy and wet out there.

Entering Norfolk you always pass an impressive row of Navy
ships - here's a strange one. It looks like a multi-hull but its
function is not clear. It could provide dry-docking service for
smaller boats? Or maybe, it just gobbles up enemy ships!
I love these colorful cranes in Norfolk Harbor.
These huge powercat ferries are a long way from home!

SeaTow arriving at the scene of a grounded Manta powercat.
It takes more than shallow draft to stay out of trouble while
transiting the ICW! This occurred at the notorious Middle
Ground shoal on the south side of the Albermarle Sound.
Seagulls flying ahead of us in the (rainy) Pungo River.
The Alligator R.-Pungo R. Canal - which appears to go on forever.

The unique Sunset Beach Pontoon Bridge. Due to recent

opens its gambling tables once outside the 3-mile limit.
